We are delighted to announce that HRS are taking part in the Kickstart Scheme. This government-backed scheme is available to employers who wish to create a new job/opportunity for a young person aged 16-24. With that being said, we are thrilled to be welcoming Shannon Taylor to our team, who joins us in her new role Assistant Account Executive at HRS.
Shannon is 24 years old and graduated from Newcastle University with a bachelor’s degree in Geography and from Northumbria University with a master’s degree in Real Estate and Surveying. After the completion of her academic achievements, she went on to achieve a qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and relocated to Spain where she taught English. Since her return to the UK, she worked for the airline JET2 however she made the difficult decision to resign as she wanted to gain experience in a new environment that would further benefit her career.
Shannon says: “I have always had a passion for nutrition, diet and exercise and this is what first attracted me to HRS. I am looking forward to combining my interests with my everyday work. I wanted a role that was able to provide experience in a variety of different areas and the roles at HRS are suited to my strengths as well as encouraging me to exit my comfort zone in order to grow. I can’t wait to further acquire knowledge and gain experience in a professional environment. I am grateful to Harriet and the team for this opportunity and look forward to my progression. I am incredibly excited for what the future holds in my new role!”
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create jobs for 16- to 24-year-olds on Universal Credit. The Kickstart Scheme is fully funded by the UK Government, which was a major draw as it meant we could expand our team as well as supporting young people seeking to find long term employment. Our HRS Communications founder and CEO Harriet Smith is a young entrepreneur herself and wanted to give back by providing opportunities for other young people to grow and develop at HRS.
Harriet says: “We look forward to working with Shannon and welcoming her to our HRS team. She has a strong skillset outside of the nutrition arena which will bring a fresh insight to the HRS team and help us to see things with a new perspective. We are confident that Shannon will thrive whilst working across a broad range of our client accounts.”
