Social media checklist for pharmaceutical companies

Following the latest release of the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMPCA) Social Media Guidance 2023 outlining the law and regulation on the use of social media by pharmaceutical companies, HRS have created a checklist for pharmaceutical companies considering setting up a social media account or for those reviewing their current policy.

The UK PMCPA has released new social media guidelines

The Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) recently released their new Social Media Guidance.  Established in 1993, the PMCPA is the self-regulatory body which administers the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry, independently of the ABPI.  With increasing use of social media globally, pharmaceutical companies may consider social media as an opportunity to engage target audiences and build brand awareness.   So, here at HRS, we’ve summarised the key practical considerations of the guidance to support pharmaceutical companies in the use of social media.
